El Clú - Branding and creative development

Braminho es un DJ y productor sueco, con raíces argentinas y colombianas, y fue quien me propuso desarrollar la identidad de su proyecto: El Clú. Cumbia, dembow, salsa, perreo, todo un continente en la misma pista de Kulturfestivalen Stockholm 2026.

Latinoamérica y el Caribe suelen mostrarse de una forma muy ceñida a ciertos estereotipos: gradientes, palmeras, tropical de catálogo. Un refrito de lo estéticamente aceptable.

Y el desafío fue retratar y encontrar una voz que le hablara a una diáspora mucho más diversa, compleja y con contradicciones en su identidad. Una suerte de abrazar y valorar esa identidad maximalista por lo que es, y no por lo que el contexto escandinavo minimalista pueda entender o condicionar.

Braminho is a Swedish DJ and producer with Argentine and Colombian roots, and he's the one who brought me in to develop the identity for his project: El Clú. Cumbia, dembow, salsa, perreo, a whole continent on the same dance floor at Kulturfestivalen Stockholm 2026.

Latin America and the Caribbean tend to be shown through a narrow set of stereotypes: gradients, palm trees, catalogue tropical. A rehash of what's aesthetically acceptable.

The challenge was to portray, and find a voice for, a diaspora that is far more diverse, complex and contradictory in its identity. Something like embracing that maximalist identity for what it is, and not for what a minimalist Scandinavian context can make sense of or contain.
